An unforgettable experience
January 2022
Amidst the Omicron wave spreading across Europe, I was able to fly to the UK and attend three gigs of Daniel Tompkins’ tour in support of his solo record Ruins. TesseracT’s singer defied all the odds and made it all happen. Live music is a big part of me and being in a crowd again, after so long, felt simply amazing. It had been previously agreed that I would take photos in London at the Boston Music Room, which I did, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
The stage wasn’t big but the lighting set up was great and I played a lot with backlighting. I had so much fun and the gig itself was fantastic! It was a real pleasure to see and hear such incredibly talented musicians perform: Daniel, his TesseracT bandmate Amos Williams on bass, Mike Malyan on drums (Monuments), Paul Ortiz a.k.a Chimpspanner on guitar and Pete Skipper (In Colour) on guitar.
The main photoshoot was done in London, but I was also able to spend some time backstage during the soundcheck in Manchester two days before (on 27.01.22). It felt really special to be able to capture some behind-the-scene moments.
